Hello, my name is Chris Browne, and this is my weblog.
I decided to start keeping track of the version history of my underlying codebase that runs this site, mainly for personal use really, but someone might be interested.
March 4th
1. Fixed a bug on the Archive Page where I'd hard coded the year as 2005 and not used Year(Now()).
February 4th
1. Got fed up with the spam in the guest book, so I've changed all the names of the input fields to stop all those nasty bots flooding my site with all their gambling and sex links. My bookmarks are full already thank you.
November 18th
1. My links are now AJaX powered and run from all the 'fdlink' tagged links I have in my del.icio.us account.
2. I've added a Miscalleneous Photos section to the photo gallery, linking to my Flickr account with a thumbnail of the latest photo I've uploaded, retrieved using XML and RSS.
November 6th
1. Turned up the paragraph font size by 0.1. May not sound much, but it does makes for an easier read.
November 4th
1. Photo gallery now has a thumbnail preview for the previous and next photos.
2. If I haven't given any title to the photo instead of showing 'Untitled' above it, wasting precious screen real estate, it displays nothing. Every pixel counts.
October 19th
1. Added a contact form to the about page, for those of you who wanted to get in touch.
October 11th
1. Frog dreaming goes all mint.
2. The complete site re-design is finished, all of the design aspect is done, and all the pages are in place. The content of the site hasn't changed all that much, its more of a re-style.
3. I've added a links section where I can post up and share some of the better links I come accorss on the internet.
4. Completely overhauled the administration of the articles and comments.
September 20th
1. Got round to adding my About page.
September 2nd
1. Changed the paging system at the bottom of the main index and the mobile photos pages. Got rid of writing all the available pages in favour of a more simplier Forward and Back link.
August 27th
1. Tweaked my encode and decode xhtml string functions so that it now renders correct paragraphs and not lots of line breaks for my posts and the comments. Also now encodes pound signs and those painful MS Word apostrophes correctly (I search using the Chr(charcode) function (searching for the stings wasn't working (I think its got something to do with character encoding))).
August 19th
1. Added the rss feed for the comments www.jobshy.com/fdv1/rss/comments.asp.
August 8th
1. Modified the handling of cookies; one cookie, many keys.
August 7th
1. The site is now running from a MySQL database
2. I now have a required email address field in all comment boxes and a remember me checkbox
3. Added onling administration of all the comments
July 30th
1. Consolidated the guests table into the comments table
July 28th
1. Have converted to XHTML 1.1
2. Added the encode/decode article text functions
3. Limit of 5000 characters for the comments

1. Have converted to XHTML 1.0 Strict

1. Has now got support for archived Photo albums
2. Added Misc section to include all the old photo albums and a fractal gallery
